Is Beyond the Tales the first game you have worked on?

Technically yes, if you don't count the first two attempts at building the game XD

What do you do besides working on Beyond the Tales?

I work as a software engineer full time and a session music part time.

Why did you decide to work on Beyond the Tales?

For me personally, its my love for the Final Fantasy series. Like many, I grew up playing Final Fantasy starting with FF7. Instantly fell in love with the series and the story telling / music is really what drew me in. Fast forward like ten years, here I am working on computers and doing music in my spare time and one day I was like "Can I actually build my own FF?". Hence where Beyond the Tales started. I pitched the idea to some of my best friends who I needed help from (RPG's are huge projects) and then it kicked off from there!

What is your favorite game of all time?

FF Mystic Quest or FF9. Big fan of the Borderlands series as well.

What are you currently playing?

Currently waiting for Borderlands 3 to arrive, but in the meantime you can catch me playing Heroes of the Storm, Mario Maker, and any of the FF games.

What is the first game you ever played?

Megaman X. Amazing game.

If you could write a book about your life, what would it be titled and why?

Funny, I have actually been working with a friend on this exact topic and one of the missing things we have is a title! A title I like is "Standing Up Through Poverty" or something like that. I grew up in a less than fortunate situation for sure and fought hard to get to the place that I am today. Outside of creating things, one of my biggest passions is helping people achieve things they never thought they could.

What advice do you have for someone wanting to get into game design and/or development?

Some cliche ones: Don't give up. Network with people. Play games. Some ones not so cliche: Planning is everything. If you have a well thought out game and it's planned well, I promise you it will go along way either building it yourself or pitching the idea to people. While I am lucky to have a team, you do NOT need a full team to build a game. Don't be discouraged. Your game will have periods of completely sucking. Don't quit there. Those are learning opportunities.

What is one thing most people don't know about you?

One thing that people know is that I am highly afraid of bees. One thing that people don't know is that I make my fiance watch Bee Keeper videos on YouTube with me XD

Do you have a favorite movie/franchise?

Harry Potter, Marvel movies, V for Vendetta.

Do you have a favorite book/series?

Wheel of Time, Harry Potter, Merlin.

If you could chose a super power, what would it be?

Ability to control time, and not to get more time etc. It is purely used for pranks XD

What three items would you take with you on a deserted island?

I'd probably die on a deserted island. Depending on how long. If I was there lets say forever, I would take a knife, blanket and the largest bucket I could bring. If I was there for lets say a week, water, a blanket, and the wheel of time series.

What was your first job?

I worked as a page (busy boy) inside of a public library.

What could you give a 30-minute presentation on with no advanced preparation?

Guitar, sports, software designs, planning, agile, making a band, organizing your life, many games like CSS, HotS, BL, FF.... AND .... Top 30 ways to start a surprise Nerf gun war.

What job would you be terrible at?

Cooking. Anything cooking. Sorry folks XD

What's a topic you wish you knew more about?

Cooking. Lol.

Dog. If you are a cat person well..... Who are you? XD
